Is a personalized blanket a good baby shower gift? It is one of the most requested personalized baby gifts we make. A blanket knit with a child’s name arrives before they do and is usually the one kept from the day, long after the clothes and toys have gone.
Which size should I order for a new baby? The Stroller size, 22" x 30", is the usual shower gift and fits a car seat, stroller and bassinet. The Crib size, 36" x 53", is the one a toddler keeps using, and the larger throws suit an older child’s bed or a family room.
How long does it take to make? Each blanket is knit once you order it, so please allow 2-3 weeks before it ships. Personalized pieces are made to order and cannot be returned, so please check your spelling carefully before ordering.
Can it go in the washing machine? Yes. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then lay flat or tumble dry on low. The acrylic will not fade, shrink or pill, which is what lets it survive daily use with a child.
Can I put a full name on this one? No. This design takes a single initial, knit as part of the artwork rather than added on top of it. If you would like a full name, we make other designs in the same colors that take one.
Acrylic or merino wool? Acrylic is machine washable, comes in all 29 colors and stands up to everyday use. Merino wool is softer and warmer and makes the more luxurious keepsake. Both are knit to the same size and design.
