Each hat is made to order in the USA in a soft, hardwearing acrylic that holds its shape wash after wash. Choose your base and accent from twenty-nine colors, and it becomes a piece made for one child alone.

Children's head sizes vary so please select size carefully. Because our hats are handcrafted, slight size variances can occur due to design and yarn color choices.

Is this a good baby shower gift?

What order do the initials go in?
First, last, then middle, with the surname initial knit largest at the center. Laura Rose Hall is entered L, H, R and reads LRH.

How does it differ from the Classic Monogram hat?
That one carries the monogram alone. This adds two stripes at the brim, which gives it a more collegiate, traditional look.

Which colors look most classic?
Bleached White with Heather Gray is the sample. Hunter Green with Sand, Navy with Bleached White and Charcoal with Off White are the other enduring pairings.

Which size should I choose?
Small suits a baby up to a year, at roughly a seventeen-inch head. Medium covers one to four years at about twenty inches, and Large fits four years through adult at around twenty-two. If a child falls between two sizes, take the larger, the knit has give, and a hat that lasts two winters is the better gift.

• As easy to love as it is to care for: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low heat.
• To maintain quality and avoid pilling, wash separately, especially from cotton towels or mixed fabrics.
• When possible, wash alone for best results.
