Fine stripes running round the hat with a name at the brim. The most traditional thing we knit, and the one that has never once looked of its moment because it has never tried to be.

Each hat is made to order in the USA in a soft, hardwearing acrylic that holds its shape wash after wash. Choose your base and accent from twenty-nine colors, and it becomes a piece made for one child alone.

Children's head sizes vary so please select size carefully. Because our hats are handcrafted, slight size variances can occur due to design and yarn color choices.

What makes a good personalized gift for a baby?
Something they will actually use, made for them alone. A named hat is worn daily through a winter and recognised across a nursery cloakroom, practical and personal at once.

How does it differ from Modern Stripe?
Classic Stripes runs finer, more traditional lines. Modern Stripe uses wider, evenly spaced bands.

Which colors look most classic?
Navy with Bleached White, Red with Bleached White, or Charcoal with Off White, three pairings that predate all of us.

Which size should I choose?
Small suits a baby up to a year, at roughly a seventeen-inch head. Medium covers one to four years at about twenty inches, and Large fits four years through adult at around twenty-two. If a child falls between two sizes, take the larger, the knit has give, and a hat that lasts two winters is the better gift.

100% Skein Acrylic:

• As easy to love as it is to care for: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low heat.
• To maintain quality and avoid pilling, wash separately, especially from cotton towels or mixed fabrics.
• When possible, wash alone for best results.
