Personalized Football Blanket with Name & Birth Date
Touchdown. A football knit large across the blanket with the baby’s name above it and their birth date below, the date this particular fan joined the family. It is the gift that gets unwrapped at the shower and then reappears every autumn Sunday for the next fifteen years.
Made to order in the USA in your choice of easy-care acrylic or soft merino wool. The name is knit into the blanket itself rather than stitched on top, so there is nothing to fray, peel or scratch against a baby’s skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a good baby shower gift?
It is one of our most requested personalized baby gifts for a sporting family. A football blanket with the baby’s name arrives before they do, and it is the one that comes out on game day for years afterwards.
What goes in the two fields?
The Name field takes a first name of up to nine characters, knit above the football. The Date field takes the birth date below it, with room for a full month name, December 4, 2009 fits comfortably.
Can I use a due date instead?
Many people do, then order a second piece once the baby arrives. If you would rather not commit to a date, our plain Football Blanket takes the name alone.
Can I match team colors?
With twenty-nine colors to choose from, most college and NFL pairings can be matched closely. Choose your base and accent and we knit it to order.
What size blanket should I order?
The Stroller size at 22" x 30" is the usual shower gift and fits a car seat or stroller. The Crib at 36" x 53" is the one a toddler keeps using. The larger throws suit a family sofa on a Sunday.
Acrylic or merino wool?
Acrylic is machine washable, comes in all twenty-nine colors and handles daily use. Merino wool is softer and warmer and makes the more luxurious keepsake gift.
Care Instructions
100% Skein Acrylic:
- As easy to love as it is to care for: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low heat.
- To maintain quality and avoid pilling, wash separately, especially from cotton towels or mixed fabrics.
- When possible, wash alone for best results.
100% Merino Wool:
- For best results, hand wash in cold water using baby shampoo or a wool-specific detergent. Gently swish, do not rub or wring. To remove excess moisture, roll in a clean towel and press gently and lay flat to dry.
- Dry cleaning is also an option if preferred.
- Treat with love, and it’ll last for years.
Please note that colors might vary in intensity as we hand-dye all our yarn. Personalized pieces are made to order and cannot be returned, please check your spelling before ordering.
