Which size should I order?
Head sizes vary, so choose carefully. Small suits 0-1 year at roughly a 17" circumference, Medium 1-4 years at about 20", and Large fits 4 years and up including adults at around 22". Because each hat is handknit, slight variation is normal.

Name or initials, which works better?
Either. A short first name reads clearly around the brim; initials suit a longer name that would not fit. You have 9 characters to work with.

Will the lettering be capitalized?
Yes. This design is knit in uppercase Antique Roman however you type it.

Which colors work best?
The design needs contrast between base and accent. Lilac with Dark Purple is a favorite; Black with Pale Yellow, Bleached White with Navy, and Turquoise with Charcoal all read clearly.

Is it warm enough for real winter?
Yes. It is knit in a dense acrylic that holds its shape and its warmth, and it will not itch the way wool can on young skin.
